Design of DEVIATED BOREHOLES inside the 3D seismic cube

At the Geothermal project scale, a 3D VSP (Vertical Seismic Profile in a borehole, combined with a small 3D broadband seismic acquisition around the borehole) is often a sufficient solution to secure the investment (knowledge of the reservoir: structure, faults, rock quality, mechanical properties, ...) and to define the trajectometry of deviated boreholes.

1 - Acquisition of the 3D VSP

2 - Processing, Interpretation of the 3D VSP & well logs,

Conversion of seismic from time to depth domains

In this example, dual deviated boreholes are drilled to use hot water from the reservoir

3 - Field development: Drilling of deviated boreholes, equipment, fracturing & tests
